German Handmade Weatherglass Ball Barometer

Original Thuringian handblown Weather Glassball by Vogel of  Germany. 

The historical weather glass has been used since the beginning of the 17th Century by fisherman and seafarers as a simple way to forecast the impending weather changes.Water moving up the spout means low pressure (stormy), high pressure pushes water down to the bottom of the spout (good weather ) coming.

The glass has the trademark affixed of the Thuringian Glass Art Guild Lauschaer Glaskunst.
