The historical weather glass has been used since the beginning of the 17th Century by fisherman and seafarers as a simple way to forecast the impending weather changes.Water moving up the spout means low pressure (stormy), high pressure pushes water down to the bottom of the spout (good weather ) coming.
The glass has the trademark affixed of the Thuringian Glass Art Guild Lauschaer Glaskunst.
